Elimination of the Stamped Visa Requirement for Nationals of the Dominican Republic

Executive Decree No. 12 of June 30th, 2026 repeals Executive Decree No. 716 of November 23th, 2015, which had included the Dominican Republic among the countries whose nationals were required to obtain a Stamped Visa to enter the national territory.

• Regulatory background: Executive Decree No. 716 of November 23, 2015, included the Dominican Republic among the countries whose nationals were required to obtain a Stamped Visa through a Panamanian Consulate in order to enter the Republic of Panama.
• Executive Decree No. 12 of June 30th, 2026 eliminates this requirement by repealing Executive Decree No. 716 of November 23th, 2015 in its entirety, following the determination that there are no security or technical grounds to justify maintaining the Stamped Visa requirement for nationals of the Dominican Republic, taking into account the excellent diplomatic and commercial relations between the two countries.
• This Executive Decree entered into force upon its promulgation, that is, on June 30th, 2026.
