By means of Decree No. 102 of July 01st 2022, published in the Official Gazette on July 04th, 2022 (hereinafter “The Decree”), the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Panama establishes new sanitary measures for the entry of travelers to the country.
RELEVANT MEASURES
The most relevant measures included in this Decree are:
- It is established that every traveler over five (5) years of age, either nationals, residents or foreigners, who enters to the country by air, land or sea, must have the complete vaccination schedule or, at least, two (2) doses of the vaccine against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes COVID-19, or according to the national vaccination schedule approved by your country of origin or provenance.
- Prior of the trip, the traveler must digital register his COVID vaccination certificate.
- Any traveler who does not have the complete vaccination schedule must present, prior to boarding the airline, port of shipment or the company that carries out the transport, a COVID-19 test (antigen or PCR), with the negative result or undetected, taken in a certified clinical laboratory in your country of origin, no later than seventy-two (72) hours in advance.
- Children under five (5) years of age, are exempted from any type of COVID-19 test if their parents, guardians, or caregivers count with the complete vaccination schedule, or a COVID-19 test, with a negative or undetected result.
- This Decree derogates the Executive Decree No. 17 of February 16th 2022, and any other regulatory provision that is contrary.

Children under five (5) years of age will be exempt from the COVID-19 test if their parents, guardians, or caregivers have a negative or undetected COVID-19 test.
- The Decree will take effect form July 18th, 2022.
