Investment amount in real estate
The investment amount in real estate is permanently set at $300,000.
Investment options:
To obtain this permit, it is necessary to invest through one of the following modalities:
- Real estate investment:
The minimum amount is set at $300,000. -
Real estate investment through a promise to purchase agreement: The minimum amount is also set at $300,000 and must be carried out through one of the following options:

By a deposit in a trust managed by a bank or fiduciary licensed to operate in Panama. This option already existed in the previous decree.

Payment to the promoter or seller of 100% of the value of the real estate that has not yet been constructed or has not been segregated or registered in the Public Registry. This is a new option introduced by this Decree. In this case, a compliance bank guarantee must be provided in favor of the investor, issued by the promoter or seller.

Investment in securities:
The minimum amount remains at $500,000. -
Fixed term deposits:
The minimum amount remains at $750,000.
New additions to the Decree:

The option for direct payment to the promoter or seller is introduced in the case of real estate investment through a promise to purchase agreement, allowing payment of 100% of the value of the property.
- Co-ownership or joint ownership in investments is accepted, but only in the case of spouses or dependents.
