Morgan & Morgan associate participates as judge in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition

From 6 to 12 April, 2014, the 55th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, an annual contest of Public International Law in which a large number of students from more than 500 law schools around the world participate, took place in Washington, DC. In this contest, teams had the opportunity to experiment with the presentation of briefs oral arguments before a panel of judges that simulated a proceeding before the International Court of Justice.

For the second consecutive year, our associate attorney Ana Cristina Castrellón was honored to be invited to participate as a judge of the international qualifying rounds. This year, the focus of competition concerns the conflict between maritime development and conservation, criminal jurisdiction and maritime salvage rights; and the University of Queensland (Australia) resulted winner

Del 6 al 12 de abril de 2014, tuvo lugar en Washington, D.C., EE.UU., la edición No. 55 del White & Case International Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, concurso anual de Derecho Internacional Público en el que participan un gran número de estudiantes de más de 500 escuelas de Derecho alrededor del mundo.  En la metodología del mismo, los equipos tienen la oportunidad de experimentar con la presentación de memoriales y argumentos verbales ante un panel de jueces que simula un proceso ante la Corte Internacional de Justicia.

Por segundo año consecutivo, nuestra abogada asociada Ana Cristina Castrellón tuvo el honor de ser invitada a participar como juez calificadora de las rondas internacionales.  Este año, el enfoque de la competencia se centró en el tema de los conflictos entre el desarrollo del sector marítimo y su conservación, la jurisdicción penal y los derechos de salvamento marítimo; resultando ganadora la Universidad de Queensland (Australia).
