Morgan & Morgan signs cooperation agreement with Operation Smile Panama

On December 6, 2012, Operation Smile and Morgan & Morgan signed a cooperation agreement between the two organizations. Through this pact, Morgan & Morgan will provide Operation Smile with different pro bono legal services. The agreement was signed by Aristides Royo, a partner at Morgan & Morgan, and Eugene Altiere, from Operation Smile.

Operation Smile Panama is an organization dedicated to help, free of charge, children, youth, and adults with facial deformities, primarily cleft lip and/or palate. They aim to help reintegrate into society disadvantaged and low-income people with various physical malformations, giving them hope of a dignified, healthy, and productive life, with the support of its volunteers and sponsors.

With the signing of this agreement with Operation Smile, Morgan & Morgan strengthens its commitment to pro bono work, gained as a signatory of the Pro Bono Declaration for the Americas, where the leading law firms in the continent are committed to working a plural number of pro bono hours per year. It also strengthens the Group’s responsibility to the community around them, thus building a better Panama.

El pasado 6 de diciembre de 2012, Operación Sonrisa y Morgan & Morgan firmaron un convenio de cooperación entre las dos organizaciones. A través de este acuerdo, Morgan & Morgan le prestará servicios legales, de manera pro bono y dependiendo de sus necesidades, a Operación Sonrisa. El convenio fue firmado por Aristídes Royo, socio de Morgan & Morgan, y Eugene Altiere, de Operación Sonrisa.

Operación Sonrisa Panamá es una fundación panameña que se dedica a ayudar, de manera gratuita, a niños, jóvenes, y adultos con malformaciones faciales, principalmente labio y/o paladar hendido. De esta manera, ayudan a reintegrar a la sociedad a personas de escasos recursos con diferentes malformaciones físicas, dándoles la esperanza de llevar una vida digna, sana y productiva, gracias al apoyo de sus voluntarios y patrocinadores.

Con la firma de este convenio con Operación Sonrisa, Morgan & Morgan refuerza su compromiso con la labor pro bono, adquirida al ser signatario de la Declaración Pro Bono de las Américas,, donde las principales firmas de abogados del Continente se comprometen a trabajar un número plural de horas pro bono al año. También, fortifica la responsabilidad del Grupo con la comunidad que los rodea, construyendo así un mejor Panamá.
