The National Immigration Service, through Resolution No. 246 of January 3rd, 2024, established the new deadlines for the submission of extensions for Temporary Residency Permits, Provisional Permits, or Permanent Residence Permits and Domestic Workers’ Visa.
Resolution No. 246 of January 3rd, 2024
(hereinafter referred to as the “Resolution”) grants a deadline until February 29th, 2024, to submit those residence permits that expired on or after March 13th, 2020:

The granted period applies to the submission of extension requests for Temporary Residency Permits, Provisional Permits, or Permanent Residence Permits and Domestic Workers’ Visa.

The acceptance of the aforementioned requests will be without prejudice to the cancellation of the corresponding fine, according to each case.

This Resolution is temporary and will be in effect until February 29th, 2024.

This measure was adopted after analyzing the situation generated by the Covid-19 pandemic, which continues to persist, and considering the reactivation of employment and the country’s economy.

It is worth mentioning, regarding fines, that Resolution No. 636 of January 27th, 2021, established that any permit that expired from March 13th, 2020, to June 30th, 2021, is exempt from expiration fines.

After February 29th, 2024, all provisions of Resolution No. 15,703 of August 24th, 2021, remain in effect. This resolution grants a period of six (6) months to submit extension requests, counted from the expiration of the corresponding Temporary Residence Permit or Provisional Permanent Resident Permit.
