The Decree No. 3 of February 21, 2022, published in the Official Gazette on February 22, 2022 (hereinafter the “Decree”), established temporary provisions for work permit applications, as follow:

The most relevant measures included in this Decree are:

The work permit renewal will be accepted, without the requirement of provide a Social Security Fund voucher with a minimum of nine (9) month payment quotes in the last twelve (12) months or the annual tax return before the General Directorate of Revenue, until August 20, 2022.

This measure will be only applicable to workers who employment contracts have been suspended during the pandemic.

With this Decree it is authorized to file work permit renewal without the requirement of nine (9) month payment quotes of Social Security Fund or the annual tax return. This requirement is requested for the work permit renewal of categories as professional foreigner, friendly nations, permanent resident, “Crisol de Raza” and others.

Previously, through the Executive Decree No. 69 of September 14, 2021, a similar measure was granted until December 31, 2021, however, with this Decree this measure is extended until August 30, 2022.

The measure established in this Decree will only be applied to those workers whose employment contracts have been suspended.
- This Decree became effective from February 22, 2022.
