The Social Security Fund launches “MI RETIRO SEGURO” tool and extends the deadline until August 2026 for the transition to the new pension system.

Panama, August 7, 2025. By means of Resolution No. 474-2025-D.G. dated August 4, 2025, the Social Security Fund has enabled, as of August 6, 2025, the digital tool “MI RETIRO SEGURO”, available at the website https://micajadigital.css.gob.pa. This platform allows insured individuals to digitally calculate and compare their old-age pension, based on their individual account, in order to make an informed decision as to whether they wish to switch pension systems.

This tool is mainly intended for insured individuals who are less than seven years away from reaching retirement age, whether they belong to the Exclusively Defined Benefit Subsystem or are enrolled in the Mixed Subsystem, and who retire before March 1, 2032. Through the calculations provided by the platform, they may evaluate whether it is convenient for them to migrate to the new pension system under the Contributory Component of the Solidarity Capitalization.

The resolution grants an extension of five months, until August 2026, after the deadline established in Article 188 of the Consolidated Text of Law 51 of 2005, so that insured individuals may make their decision in an informed and timely manner, rather than switching to the new system immediately.

Likewise, the “MI RETIRO SEGURO” platform allows insured individuals who are not yet near retirement to obtain an estimated projection of their monthly pension, as well as to consult their contributions recorded in their individual account statement, in the case of those who have contributed under the Mixed Subsystem.

Insured individuals may access their individual account through the Mi Caja Digital platform, by creating a user account (using their national ID number and password).
