Jazmina Rovi and Francisco Linares, partners of Morgan & Morgan, contributed to the Panama chapter of the first edition of Getting the Deal Through: Market Intelligence-Shipping, a publication that invites leading professionals in their jurisdictions to conduct a thorough analysis of the evolution and the regulatory scenario of the maritime industry globally.
Mrs. Rovi has over 20 years of experience representing ship owners, charterers and leading financial institutions on all types of registration schemes under Panama flag and ship finance structures including ship mortgages and pledge of shares of Panama ship owning companies. She is listed as a leading lawyer in the Shipping chapters of Chambers & Partners and Latin Lawyer 250.
Mr. Linares’ career includes over 20 years of experience in all aspects of maritime dispute resolution and claims at the Maritime Courts of Panama, dealing with collisions, cargo claims, oil spills and pollution, charter party disputes, personal injury, maritime liens, marine insurance claims, ship mortgage executions, among others. Currently, he is the President of the Maritime Law Association of Panama (2017-2018 period).

Morgan & Morgan participated in 2013 Seoul Meeting
More than 50 attendees including ship-owners, banks, attorneys and other leading professionals from the maritime and financial industries, participated in the 2013 Seoul Meeting titled: Panama, Connecting the World, held this year on November 14 at The Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul, Korea.
During this meeting, Morgan & Morgan partners Jazmina Rovi and Juan David Morgan Jr., took part with presentations on Panama Flag Fleet: New Developments and Ship Arrest & Defenses in Panama, respectively.
Mr. Aram Cisneros, Ambassador of the Republic of Panama in Korea opened the event with the presentation A Closer Look at Panama, where he spoke on important issues related to the Panamanian economy, including the expansion of the Panama Canal and its role as an international trade route, among others.
Más de 50 asistentes incluyendo armadores, bancos, abogados y otros destacados profesionales de la industria marítima y financiera tomaron parte en la Reunión Seúl 2013 titulada, Panama, Connecting the World, que se celebró este año el 14 de noviembre en el Westin Chosun Hotel de Seúl, Corea.
Durante la reunión, los socios Jazmina Rovi y Juan David Morgan Jr., participaron con presentaciones sobre: Panama Flag Fleet: New Development y Ship Arrest & Defenses in Panama, respectivamente.

Morgan & Morgan participate in the Panama Martitime XI Conference & Exhibition
From February 27 to March 1, 2013 the Panama Martitime XI Conference & Exhibition was held, an activity that brings together key customers and suppliers of the maritime industry in Panama. The event took place at the Megapolis Convention Center in Panama City.
Morgan & Morgan participated in this event as part of the group “The Major Maritime Law Firms of Panama ¨ sponsoring a coffee break during one of the three days of the conference. Dr. Ricardo Lachman, a partner at Morgan & Morgan, gave a presentation on the topic of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006. The partners Jazmina Rovi, Francisco Linares, and the associate Gianela Rivas also participated in the event on behalf of the firm.
Del 27 de febrero al 1 de marzo de 2013 tuvo lugar el Panama Martitime XI Conference & Exhibition, actividad que reúne a los principales clientes y proveedores de la industria marítima en Panamá. El evento se llevó a cabo en el Megápolis Convention Center de la ciudad de Panamá.
Morgan & Morgan participó de este evento como parte del grupo ¨The Major Maritime Law Firms of Panama¨ siendo patrocinador del coffee break durante uno de los tres días de la conferencia. Morgan & Morgan distinguished by the International Association for Volunteer Effort
In the framework of the decade of the International Year of the Volunteers proclaimed by the United Nations, Morgan & Morgan was distinguished by the International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE) for its support in the development of the project of the Panamanian Volunteering Law.
During the event, IAVE highlighted the pro bono work of the Morgan & Morgan team who cooperated with this project, such as attorneys Jazmina Rovi, Nestor Broce, Kharla Aizpurua, Aristides Anguizola, Itzel Blanco and Vicky Alvarado and also executives Rosa de Salazar, Camila Vengoechea and Marcela Tejeira. Furthermore, Morgan & Morgan was recognized for its leadership in Corporate Social Responsibility matters.
Dr. Juan David Morgan acknowledged the recognition, reassuring that Corporate Social Responsibility is in the DNA of MMG since its beginnings and it will consolidate in the future with MMG Tower, new headquarter of the Morgan & Morgan Group and one of the first green buildings in Panama. He also declared that it’s very important for the partners to promote a company based in values that result in actions that benefit the community. Through this project, Morgan & Morgan becomes part of the volunteering history of Panama and contributes, once more, in the creation of public policies. Morgan & Morgan, a UN Global Compact signatory since 2001, continues its 89 year tradition of commitment to the welfare and development of its community and employees.
