London, October 3, 2019. Luis G. Raven, partner in the Shipping and Admiralty Litigation Department of Morgan & Morgan, participated in The International Maritime Law Seminar (IMLS), an annual event that takes place in the City of London and seeks to provide in-depth analysis and discussion of current legal topics critical to the marine industry.
More than 250 maritime executives and attorneys attended the seminar presented under the moderation of representatives of more than 15 leading law firms from five different continents. Mr. Raven participated in the panel discussion titled “Issues and Solutions Arising from IMO 2020 ULSFO Requirements” and he focused on the steps being taken in Panama to guarantee MARPOL Annex VI’s implementation and enforcement.

More than 500 local and international companies and individuals from the maritime industry gathered in the Republic of Panama for the fourteenth edition of Panama Maritime Conference & Exhibition, the largest maritime event in Panama, which took place from March 17th to March 19th, 2019, at the Megapolis Convention Center.

Francisco Linares re-elected as Chairman of the Panamanian Maritime Law Association
Panamá, April 30, 2018. Dr. Francisco Linares, partner of Morgan & Morgan, was re-elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Panamanian Maritime Law Association for the 2018-2019 term.
The act took place last April 20 at Club Union in Panama City, with the presence of personalities and professionals of the legal and maritime industries.
The new Board is comprised also by Maria Lourdes Galan (Vice President), Ramon Franco (Secretary), Maria del Pilar Castillo (Assistant Secretary), Giovanna Avendaño (Treasurer), Alexis Herrera Jr. (Assistant Treasurer), and Belisario Porras (Director).
In his speech as Chairman, Dr. Linares confirmed his commitment to keep representing the interest of all participants in the industry before government authorities, and to continue introducing initiatives that will contribute to strengthen Panama’s position as a main center of world maritime trade.
